David Herman Mueller, age 69, of Portland Texas, passed away on January 8, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer and COPD.
David was born August 21,1950 in Victoria Texas. David was the first-born child to Vastine and Lorena Mueller. He resided in Houston Texas and met the love of his life Mitzi (Paxson) Mueller at a Christmas tree decorating party in 1980. In 1981, David and Mitzi moved to Portland, Texas and made Portland their permanent home. Over the years David worked for HL&P, Dow Chemical Co, JE Sirrine Engineering, and Stubbs Overbeck Engineering. David worked 35 years for BHP Engineering & Construction, L.P.as a control systems/ electrical design supervisor. David was well respected in his field of work. He was a mentor for many of his coworkers. David liked to spend his free time fishing, rock collecting, gardening, reading history books, and bird watching. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. David was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandpa, brother, and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his father Vastine Mueller of La Grange, Texas and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife Mitzi Mueller of Portland; mother Lorena Mueller of Sealy, Texas; a son Derek Mueller and his wife Sarah of Spring, Texas and their daughter Chloe Mueller; a daughter Evelyn Betz and her husband Tyler of Portland, and their children Max and Reagan; his sister Mary Gassiott and her husband Tim of Sealy, Texas and their children James and Joel; his brother Gerald Mueller of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by many cousins, uncles, and aunts.
Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday January 17, 2020 at Limbaugh Funeral Home.
