Juan "Johnny" Chapa

Juan “Johnny” Chapa passed away July 30, 2018. He was 39.

Johnny was born in Laredo, Texas to Ponciano Chapa, Sr. and Noelia (Solis) Chapa on September 5, 1978.  He was a member of Grace Point Church in Portland.  Johnny loved his job as a Project Sponsor and was employed at Kiewit for many years.  He graduated from Texas A&M – Kingsville with his Bachelor’s Degree.  Most of all, Johnny lived and loved for his wife, his children and his family; always giving and always kind.

He is preceded in death by his father: Ponciano Chapa, Sr.  Survivors include his loving wife: Tara Lynn (Northcutt) Chapa of Portland, Texas; sons: Ethan Andruw Chapa of Corpus Christi, Kash Mason Benton and Kase Mattox Chapa of Portland and daughter:  Jena Amerie Chapa of Corpus Christi. He is also survived by his mother and step-mother:  Noelia Chapa of Hebbronville and Norma Chapa of El Campo; his brothers: twin-brother: Jose A. Chapa (Jennifer) of San Marcos; Ponciano O. Chapa, III of Hebbronville; Ramiro Garza (Cynthia) of El Campo; Gabriel Garza of El Campo; sisters:  Leticia Salinas of Hebbronville; LoWanda Moreno (Able) of Pearland; Levina Garza (Frank) of Calallen; Sandra Garza of Freer; Angel Yvanes of Freer; and Lisa Nevarez (Felipe) of Hebbronville.  He is also survived by his mother and father in-law:  Terry and Lisa Northcutt of Portland and his brother-in-law:  Ryan Northcutt (Katy) of Yuma, Arizona. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Portland, located at 1305 Wildcat Drive in Portland.  Interment will be private.
